@Leonie - welcome to The Clearing Space! It's lovely to have you visit and share your words of wisdom.

@Amy - ahhh, your PHD is a huge event! We'll all be celebrating, tooting our horns and throwing streamers... not to mention the odd glass of bubbles to help you celebrate. I love your way of staying in the present by looking through a lens... magnificent stuff.

@Karen - you're right, we do need constant reminders, don't we? I know I do! Good luck with the changes.

Thank you all - Karen x

:) LOL Pete... it IS a battle, isn't it?
I had forgotten how much music helps me, until a recent conversation reminded me about how it supports me... soothing, calming, nurturing and uplifting. So I've updated the ipod, and connect it to the stereo every time I have the house to myself - or when the teens are still in bed:) and I feel like a part of me has been found that I didn't realise was lost.

Here's to NOW!
Thanks for comin' round, Pete.

How do I keep it in the present? Buggered if I know. This is one of my constant battles.

Music helps sometimes. It'll bring me back to things I care about or even just get me to sit and listen and enjoy. My kids help with this when they're home too: because they're so funny, it so often brings me down to earth to just let them talk and mess around, and once again, I'm sitting in the Now and enjoying.

I'll work on this one today. Later. ;)

What a beautiful poem and a powerful reminder to start the week. I am currently in that same space, planning and preparing for big changes that both excite and scare me yet needing to live in the now. I had a similar reminder of the power of a moment on Saturday which inspired my blog post today. We do need to regularly remind ourselves to live now, not later.

For me the event on the horizon is the completion of my phd. I'm trying to keep myself grounded by focusing on my environment and training my lens on them :-)
Just love that poem, btw!

Thankyou for reminding me to live in the present full of joy and love. The future will always be there and I can only do my best so there is no need to worry or have fear and the universe has a plan for me and it is already written. What will be will be. Live each day like it is your last!
